Lecroy 8901

I have a LeCroy 8901 module. I am using driver for LeCroy 8901A to communicate with it using labview. Labview can talk to the module but the counts reading values from the controller are not correct(not matching with the display module). Is there is any seperate driver for LeCroy 8901? Anyone know whats the difference between LeCroy 8901 and LeCroy 8901A?

Hello Abhisek,

       I am glad that you are trying the LabVIEW Instrument Driver for the 8901A.  I don't know the difference between the 8901 and the 8901A.  Sometimes the difference in revisions is barely noticable, but other times it is significant.  To find out more about the difference, I highly recommend that you contact LeCroy directly or look through their documentation on their website.

       After finding out the difference between the 8901 and the 8901A, please post it to this thread.  If the firmware was part of the change, see if it is possible for you to upgrade the firmware on your instrument.  If the command sets or data format was changed, it would probably be worthwhile for you to edit the LV PnP Instr Driver to work with the older format/commands.

       Most instrument driver developers try to support multiple instrument models in a single driver if they are closely related.  Since that is not the case with this instrument driver, they might be pretty different.
