Is Instrument Simulator v.2 still worth it?

Hello,

I'm learning labview, connecting myDaq, myRio, Arduino and others. I have the opportunity to purchase Instrument Simulato v2 cheaply. The question is whether this educational device is still worth anything? Is it better to buy, for example, an electric meter with rs232 as DMM?

It depends on what you consider to be an affordable price.

If you're getting it at a throwaway price, it may be fine, as it saves you some time in trying to create some workaround to practice. You can buy an Arduino and program it with a SCPI parser and a command set.

The best option is to get a real project and associated instrument; this way, you can practice and get things done.

If you are just looking for something to learn with, check out the CTI effort that is still ongoing.  It is using a Raspberry Pi Pico to do some simple stuff like a DAQ with a SCPI interface.  VIs are also there to use with the device.  Follow the links in this blog post: https://forums.ni.com/t5/Random-Ramblings-on-LabVIEW/Sneaky-Peak-and-Some-Love-to-Spread-CTI/ba-p/43...
