Having problems installing the driver software

I am having problems installing the driver software for the AT-GPIB/TNT board,NI-488.2 version 3.0.Whenever I run the diagnostic as specified I get the foolowing error messages:

ibdiag test-Error reading NI-PNP.INI

ibtest test ;-unable to locate c;\Windows\GPIB.INI

gpibIinfo test ;-warning you do not have the GPIB.DLL driver file installed.

I tried installing the software several it stills give the same response.

I would appreciate if you  could assist me in overcoming this problem.

Hi Osayi,

Can you please tell me what version of NI-488.2 you are using? To find this information go to Measurement & Automation Explorer and expand My System » Software. Click on NI-488.2 and the driver information will appear on the right.

Check the following tutorial and depending on your operating system download the appropriate version of NI-488.2.

The version is 3.0 of the 488.2 software.

There's no such thing as version 3. Did you look at the link? Did you not read what version of the driver you need for that old card?

2.7.2 does not exist either. Where are you finding these numbers?

The version is MS- DOS,sorry for the earlier wrong version.

Hi Osayi,

Sorry about the confusion. You need to download NI-488.2 version 2.7.2. Uninstall the old driver and reinstall version 2.7.2. Please make sure the device is not connected when installing the driver.
