Hardware or Software GPIB Device Simulator

Does anyone know of a hardware or software based simulator to simulate a spectrum analyzer?

Our application communicates with many different devices and we are looking for a way to test if the right sequence of GPIB codes are being sent to a remote device.

Hello gj,
      Which Spectrum Analyzer are you using?  Have you considered using instrument drivers to control your instruments?  IVI instrument drivers have simulation, which can help you develop your application without HW.  If you are set on just doing direct I/O, I don't know of a specific SW or HW that can simulate a SpecAn well.

Hello Nathan,

My software supports over 100 different spectrum analyzers. HP8566, Agilent E4440A PSA, Rohde & Schwarz ESI-40, Schaffner, Tektronics, etc. I'm going throught some major code restructoring and wanted to make sure that it doesn't break any of my drivers.

IVI sound interesting I'll have to check it out.
