HP 6642a and LabView

Hi,
I am a grad student. I have HP 6632a and HP 6642A DC power supplies and NI 6221 [M-series DAQ card] in my lab.

   1. Can I control the voltage of any of the above DC power supplies?
   2. I want to also monitor the output voltage of the DC supply [8 V- 18 Volts]. Can I do that ?

If yes, please suggest/point me the

   1. Cables that I need.
   2. Software/Drivers that I need.
   3. Could you also point me to any of the example VIs that are already there for such data acqusition? [I will  be using the DAQ card to acquire the data from other sensors, encoder optical sensor, current measuring Hall sensor,  ]

I am using WindowsXP.

Thanks a lot!!

You can control the power supplies if they have a GPIB interface and if you have a GPIB controller for the pc. There are LabVIEW drivers available for both of the instruments. The options for the 6632 can be found at here and the 6642 are here. I would recomend that you avoid the IVI drivers and stick with the either of the LabVIEW plug & play versions. The project style is for LabVIEW 8.x. If you don't have a GPIB controller, you can find one here. You would get the necessary drivers with the controller. The GPIB and VISA drivers are also included on the LabVIEW device Drivers CD. You would need a GPIB cable for each instrument. The 6221 is programmed with DAQmx and there are a lot of shipping examples. You should also check out the Getting Started tutorial.
