Just acquired an HP 54602A scope and it looks like the screen keys are locked, from a previous user I would guess with
the :SYSTEM:LOCK command.
I need to gain access to the scope via its GP-IP/HP-IP to set the SYSTEM:LOCK OFF command.
Last time I used LabV was in the 80's so let's say I know nothing...
I was hoping there was a pre-canned piece of software that was written that would just allow configuration commands
to be sent to the scope via (GP-IP/HP-IP) / RS-232 interface...
Thus allowing a bunch of software, that will not be used, to be installed.
I have a typical WIN-10 install running...
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
If you have NI-GPIB hardware and software installed go into NI-MAX, select the GPIB interface under Devices and Interfaces.
Select 'Scan for Instruments' on the right side of the window and when the scope shows up in the list select the 'Communicate with Instrument' button.
For an instrument that old you might have to go into the Advanced Settings section and slow down the Bus Timing.

Thanks Curt...
Managed to use a Telex Serial send program to send strings to the Scope
and now able to send prog. codes..
I thought the Soft keys might me LOCKED but discovered they are not,
so I suspect the soft keys are not working for another reason... hardware issue,
so need to disasemble and fix it...
thanks
