Getting errors from calling dlls within labview 7.

I am writing a routine in Labview 7.0 in order to perform RF calibration on a WLAN product. I have my PC connected to a spectrum analyzer via an external GPIB-USB interface. The WLAN test board is plugged into a PCI/CF drive in the PC. I get intermittent "Failed to read configuration" messages from the test DLL that I am calling to control the channel and power of the WLAN card. What are some of the causes that I might get these errors? I have been trying many different options in the timing and structuring of the routine, but I cannot seem to find the source of the error.

the fact that the dll returns an error and not LabVIEW, suggests that the problem is inside the dll - inside that black box.
You might search the dll material or contact the supplier.
