Hi Gnuda,

We don't have official support for this here at NI, BUT this would involve calling the gpib-32 shared library (I'm pretty sure there's documentation on this out there). I've never done this myself, but have been told it's possible. It would just involve making calls to our GPIB library.

Hope this helps a bit,

Hello Matt,

Thanks for the reply.
I have posted hoping that someone would have worked on this.I feel NI should support me since i'm using their product.

Kiran,

It looks like there is a perl module available for GPIB on CPAN.  http://search.cpan.org/~jeffmock/GPIB_0_30/ni/ni.pm

NI did not develop this module, so we can't attest to the functionality that it provides.  I hope this provides what you need.

In case anyone still stumbles upon this thread, we're currently doing a rewrite of this software so we are not hard-locked to NI-VISA anymore. The new (currently beta) version can be found at http://www.labmeasurement.de/ and is able to use different back-ends, e.g. NI-VISA on Windows and LinuxGPIB on Linux.
