I have a clean PC, newly built with Windows XP. I have a big
package of NI CDs with LV 8.2, CVI ,Device Drivers, Measurement Studio,
etc. I installed everything with default settings and went into
Max, and under Devices and Interfaces I didn't see any GPIB devices
listed. So I right clicked and added a "GPIB Interface", at which
point I got an error that there is a problem with "gpib-32.dll".
The error message recommended reinstalling NI 488.2. I tried
that, and had the same problem. I then uninstalled everything and
reinstalled LV 8.2 and the device driver CD (Nov 2006 version) with
default settings. The problem persisted. So I uninstalled
everything again and installed only the device driver CD. After
that, the GPIB interface worked just fine. Then I installed LV
8.2, and the problem came back. I checked that the file exists in
C:\I386 and C:\Windows\system32. What am I doing wrong?
