GPIB Communication Problem between Newport Optical Power Meter 1830-C and Labview

Solved!
Go to solution

Dear all,

Is anyone familiar with Newport Optical Power Meter 1830-C or 1830-R? I am using the 1830-C to communicate with Labview by GPIB. All the drivers are well installed.

Now I want to display the the New data from 1830-C on the Waveform Chart created on a blank VI plus with the Newport's -----"New Valid Reading from 1830-C". But the problem is that when the VI is continuously working, the Data Zero interval appears on the Waveform Chart. Ten Waveform Chart often drops to 0.00000 and then rises to a non-zero value.

Does anyone know the reason? I see there is a Timeout (Default 500) that  can be changed in the  Newport"New Valid Reading from 1830-C"VI. Is it related to the Timeout? Also, in the 1830-C manual, Display Update Rate: 75 ms”,“GPIB Bus Transfer Time: 10 ms (typical)”.

Thank you very much!

Henry

Hi Henry,

I saw that you also posted this question on the LabVIEW forum. It looks like through the Chinese forum, you were able to get an answer on the topic. In the future, please find the appropriate forum and create only one thread.

If you wouldn't mind, it would be helpful to those reading the English forums to see the answer to your question. You can post it here or on your thread in the LabVIEW forum.

Hi, KyleP,

Sorry for the mistake about the forums where I posted my question as I was not familiar with those different forums before. I will pay attention to it later.

Yeah, finally I added a Delay Time, like 200ms, beside the "Send" part in the Newport' VI - New Valid Reading from  1830-c.

Thank you all for your attention.

Best regards,

Henry
