Fluke 6100A driver problem

Hi all,

I am just trying to run two simple setup functions in the fluke 6100a driver, but I am getting error (see attachment).  Do you know where I can find out more about what the error message mean?  Thanks!

Hi jyang,

Have you attempted to communicate with the instrument in Measurement & Automation Explorer?  An easy test to run to make sure that everything is configured properly and that the instrument is connected would be to open up MAX, click on the device under the Devices and Interfaces tab on the right-hand side of the window, and then click on the Communicate with Instrument button on the top bar.  Writing a simple *IDN? to the device will ensure it is connected properly if it returns the device ID.  Hope this helps!

I am able to communication with the instrument.  Majority of the functions in the driver work.  However, the two functions that I have questions about do not work.

Good Afternoon,

I was able to download the driver myself to try and diagnose your error and after looking into your driver more closely in LabVIEW (by looking at the context help for each VI), it looks like the two configuration VIs that you are getting errors for (Configure Meters.VI and Configure Energy.VI) are only supported by the Fluke 6100B.

Hi,

Some functions of the driver are only supported in Fluke 6100B. So if you run these VIs in 6100a you'll get the error info from the model.

You can view the detail info from the each VI's help documentation. I have attached the screen shot bellow.

I saw that comment as well, but I didn't understand why it would only support the A model.  Thanks!

Actually the commands in these VIs are only valid in 6100B model. You can check the programing manual of the two models or contact with the support engineer of Fluke.
