Error code 1240

Dear NI

Greetings. I am using library vi  for HP/ Agilent 4041B pA/DC voltage source. When I run a vi I get this error  "HP4140B Read Wave Meas; Wait for Interrupt (GPIB)". I get this error even when I change the GPIB address from 17 to actual address 19 in all the vi's.

Kindly advise.

You could try increasing the timeout as indicated in this forum.

Basically this error is a timeout meaning that the program is not getting the signal it expects (in this case probably an interrupt) from the device in question.  Have you already completed the other basic troubleshooting steps like checking for the device in MAX scan for instruments?

Dear Mr. Daming

Greetings. I am using a third party IEEE 488 GPIB interface card, "ADLINK PCI-3488".  It does not get recognized by MAX. Can it be a source of problem.

Please advise.

I'm surprised that anything at all works with that card. The low level GPIB functions are written for NI cards. In order for anything to work, this other company would have to duplicate all of the NI functions and replace the driver from NI with one of their own. I think you should contact Adlink as this board is not support for them.
