I have been trying to set up my Keithley 2701. I have been trying to follow the instructions from other posts, as follows
1) Open NI MAX
2) Right click devices and interfaces and click "Create new"
3) Click on Create Visa TCP/ICP resource
4) Manual Entry option, and I enter in the IP address and the port number "1394"
However, it is not able to validate this port number and I get the error code 0xBFFF0011 as well as a statement that there is insufficient location information.
I thought the steps I was following have been working from the other posts I have seen but it appears not to be working in my case. Are there possible things I have missed here?

What does Keithley's manual say?
I would follow their instructions.

I couldn't find anything in the manual relating to this issue.

The 2701 has two interface modes; ethernet and RS232. When you power it on you should see the display LOAD ETHERNET for a few seconds, if not then it is still set to RS232 mode. You need to change it through the front panel before you can communicate with it thru the ethernet port.
See section 10 of the manual for ethernet setup - https://www.tek.com/switching-and-data-acquisition-systems/2700-multimeter-data-acquisition-switch-s...

It appears to be in the correct mode, I do see LOAD ETHERNET when I turn it on. I am also able to ping the instrument in the command prompt on my computer.
