Enable/Disable SSH Checkbox

I would like to install software to a cRIO 9054, but when I click 'Add/Remove Software', I get an error saying ssh needs activating.

I'm sure I have previously seen a checkbox under 'Startup Settings', and from what I see online there should be one there, but it has now disappeared, and I can see no other way to activate ssh.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Well I think I've made progress.

Selecting 'Force Safe Mode' in 'Startup Settings' and then restarting the controller (and for me NI Max), brought the ssh selection box back. Selecting and restarting again allowed the check and installation of necessary software.

In the help menu it describes booting into 'Safe Mode' as:

"Booting into this mode bypasses the normal boot programs on the RT target. Instead, it boots only essential services required for configuration and installing software. Safe mode is useful if the software on the RT target becomes corrupted, as it bypasses the corrupted software. You can then use MAX to reinstall the software."
