Configure DMM 34461A to read with rear panel after reading with front panel

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello community,

I'm trying to make a program to be able to use just one DMM instead of 2 DMM's.

The 34461A have two DC Volts inputs, located 1 in front panel and the other in rear panel. Well, instead of using two DMM's to read the voltages and have a simple coding, I'm trying to maximize the use of just one DMM by configure the rear panel after using the front panel. It has to be a way to configure the DMM to achieve this, I'm thinking of the language SCPI and use a command on this language to send it later with VISA Write VI.

Have you ever had this can of challenge?

Thanks for the support!

What you plan is not possible. It looks like you need to physically activate a switch to select the Front/Rear terminal, and the manual says don't switch when signals are connected.
