Communication problems with Prodigit PD3311D eletronic load

I am trying to communicate with the load using RS-232 serial port and the instrument drivers supplied by the vendor. I am using a "getting started" example, but i still cannot read from the load. This is probably a newbie problem, but still I'm lost.

I get error code -1073807339, what does this mean?

If you right click on the error indicator, you can select 'Explain Error'.

The timeout error means that there was nothing read from the instrument - probably because it did receive a correctly formatted command. Verify your com port settings and that you are using the correct type of serial cable. Try testing the connection with Hyperterminal.
