Com port problems

1) When running my program in a .VI file I have no problems with the Visa Configure serial port, however when create a runtime version of the .vi program then the function returns an error.  What causes this problem?

2) I use the build installer function to create a runtime program that has serial commands.  When I intall it to a another computer the COM port does not work.  Are the serial drivers not getting set up correctly?

do you have only problems in the other pc or also on the pc with the development enviroment?

Jeff,

Any vi that uses VISA functions will need NI-VISA Runtime to run as a .exe.  Make sure that you installed LV Runtime and NI-VISA Runtime on the target PC.

Thanks for help!.  When I include NI VISA with the installer it worked.
