Applying a trigger to the AFG 310 via GPIB

Hi,

I have download the drivers for the AFG 310 Arbitrary function generator, but there doesn't seem to be any vi with the help of which I can give a trigger to the AFG via the GPIB port although in the manual it says that you can give a trigger using a GPIB command in the dirvers there is only an option of an external trigger, I am not that experienced in Labview so if anyone could help in this it would be great, like any changes which need to made to the drivers ??

Hi,

The driver has VIs for configuring Edge and Video Triggers.
TKTDS 3xx Config Edge.vi
TKTDS 3xx Config VideoTrig.vi

Hi,

Sorry about that.  The tkafg3x0 is an old IVI driver and it doesn't seem like it has many options for triggering.

The only options available are Force Trigger which sends the *TRG command and Configure Trigger Source.

As mentioned it only has the option for external triggering.  Not sure for this function generator, however other function generators usually allow options for internal and software triggering (you might check the manual).  These other options may have to be added to the driver.

You may be able to use the tkafg3k driver if the command set is similar, just disable the IDQuery control.

You might try doing a search for Trigger in the manual.  It seems this function generator doesn't that have many options, so the tkafg3k wouldn't be too helpful.

Hi Tristan

I am trying to download drivers for AFG 310. The one mentioned at

http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=E3B19B3E9559659CE034080020E748...

- is the installer and not the VIs.

Also, the Tektronix website has some VIs but they are for LABview 5 or something.

Do you have the VIs for LABview 8.5 or recent.

thanks

Saurabh

The installer is for the IVI driver and does include the VIs - assuming you clicked the 8.5.1 button on the link you gave. Did you even run the installer?
