AT-GPIB/TNT(PnP) device conflict in WinNT system

Hello everyone,

I have an AT-GPIB/TNT(PnP) card and want to install it on my computer with windows NT system.
After I installed the NI 488.2 1.60, I turned off the computer, pluged the card and turned on the computer. The get start wizard made me to config the GPIB card. I choosed the default options.(when I clicked on the "config" button and saw the "serial number" colomn in grey color). Then I clicked ok . The program saved the change and appeared the window telling me the Ni488.2 configuration utility is unable to start the NI488.2 software. I proceeded to "verify your hardware and software installation", the first two processes(software and hardware presence verified) are ok. but the "GPIB interfaces sequentially verified" had problem. I was told that one or more GPIB interfaces failed.
I double-clicked the interface and used the event viewer. It showed me the following informations:
There is a resource conflict between AT-GPIB board #0 and another piece of hardware in your computer system. The AT-GPIB board cannot use Base I/O Address 0x0 because of this conflict. No driver will be loaded for board #0. Please use the IBCONF utility to correct this problem by selecting a different Base I/O Address for board #0.
Another one is:
The system has detected a conflict between the I/O port region used by the PC Compatible Eisa/Isa HAL driver (device: .Translated) and another device in the system. If you check the Data section below, you will find the starting address of the conflicting I/O port region in the 64-bit value at offset 0x28. The length of the region is contained in the double-word at offset 0x30.
I input "ibfind" into IBIC, it showed [8100] Edvr <0*2>.
There is no other NI products on my computer.
I changed configuration of GPIB in the first step of Get start wizard. I only changed the primary and secondary address of GPIB address. And the same thing happened.(The program saved the change and appeared the window telling me the Ni488.2 configuration utility is unable to start the NI488.2 software)

One more thing is I have installed the NT PnP support. After I installed it , everytime I restarted the computer, the machine will install new hardware which are Crystal semiconductor Control Base , Crystal semiconductor cs423x Plug and play, Crystal semiconductor MPU-40. Because I don't have these drivers , I couldn't install them and the computer will detected them every time I restarted it .

What should I do to change the I/O base address of GPIB card according to the information in NT Diagnostic(i.e. what information should I get from NT Diagnostics and to set the address for GPIB).

Thank you very much!

Hello-

Try disabling some of the hardware that is not used (serial ports, parallel ports, secondary IDE controllers, etc). Also, try to allow the Crystal drivers to install. It is probably some special feature of the motherboard that isn't always obvious.
