While running the sample GetDeviceList.vi, the following errors happen.
0x80054C09 (-2147136503)
NI-Industrial Communications for DeviceNET: The board's firmware did not answer a command. Solution: Stop your application and execute a self test. Try deactivating/reactivating the driver in the Device Manager. If the problem persists, contact National Instruments.
It happens at very random times. Also, once the error occurs a restart of the system is required, but at some times, several restarts is required. Also deactivating/reactivating has not helped solve the situation. Is there any information regarding this error?

What is your hardware and software setup? backplane, controller, LV version? Do you have an external power supply for the module or do you use the same as for the controller? If yes could you try using an external one?

Hi DirkW,
LV 2011 SP1 and PCI-8532 is used with NI-Industrial Communications for DeviceNET 2.1. I will have to check with my customer about the controller used, but it is an OMRON PLC. I will also have to check about the external power supply, if the power supply you mean is for the DeviceNet Port.
So when you ask about the power supply, there is a possibility a firmware problem occurs when there is not enough power applied to the port?

Thats a possible cause of this firmware transfer error. So yes, check the power on your devicenet network and let me know.
Another one would be the fpga code stop running on your FPGA. Or an open close for the FPGA handle on your RT target in a loop?
