Configuring 9171/9401 Counter Input channel

I want to use a counter channel to measure period and frequency in Flexlogger 2025 Q3 using the NI 9171 chassis and 9401 module, but the only options are Angular Position, Linear Position, and Pulse.  Custom is useless in this case. 

Where are all the other measurement types for counters? Am I missing something?!
