Today I wanted to attach a source code to my post, first I tried to add a *.c file, in a second step I tried to attach a zip file which both I have seen to work in the past.
After pressing the Post button, I got a red error message
Please correct the highlighted errors and try again.
The attachment's content type (application/octet-stream) does not match its file extension.
So I posted the message without attachment, and added a second post with the attachment. For the second very short post it DID work. Could it be that autosaving... interferes with attachments (it took me half an hour to finalize my initial post)?
