Update: This discussion applies to Issues from the 2010 FTC season and is no longer relevant for current FTC competition software.
after we choose our NXT from the Choose button on the FCS, we get a big red message in the Current Teams box:
FTC at 192.168.1.102 is OFF.
FTC is the current name of our NXT. Everything seems to be working fine - the module has the blue and red lights on, with the white light flashing, the Labview program 'FTC Controller Station' is running, the NXT is connect to the Textrix motor controller from port 1.
The router is on and I can ping the NXt at the above IP address.
What the heck is wrong? i've rebooted the computer and the Samantha/NXT system several times.
thanks,
elaine

Hi, Have you used program chooser to select a default teleop program? Does the NXT work when hooked up with USB?

Thanks for replying! I have used the chooser to select the default program, and it does work when hooked up with the USB. It's working fine today. i don't know what is different.
can you give us any programming help? we're trying to program a servo using joystick buttons, and some sensors, but haven't had any luck adding them to the basic teleop program.

I would recommend taking a look at the more advanced examples, here:
C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2009\examples\FTC Toolkit\Template Implementations
These examples have more code for you to work from and will already have expanded on the basics. Let me know if you have any specific questions about these examples.
Take care!

We continue to have problems with the FCS showing that the NXT is off - When we press the 'Choose' button to select the NXT, the correctly named NXT with its IP address shows up in the 'Teams found' window. When we select it, we have the message showing up under the 'Current Team' that the 'FTC at 192.168.1.106 is OFF'. (FTC is the current name of our NXT). The NXT window says 'Offline Teleoperation'. I have rebooted, restarted, nothing seems to work.
This is just like the problem we had a couple of weeks ago - when I came back in the next morning and tried it, everything worked fine.
Has anyone else had this problem?

I have, but mine said OFFLINE on FCS and it wouldn't let me select it.
