PCI 6533 (DIO-32HS) manual for NI-DAQmx

With the new release of NI-DAQ 7.4, the PCI 6533 (DIO-32HS) board is now supported under NI-DAQmx. However, it does not seem to be an available update of the PCI 6533 manual presenting the board with NI-DAQmx in mind. Is there a planned release for such a document? When could it be available?

Hi J_W,

The 6533 manual for DAQmx is not quite complete, but we are working on it...apologies for the delay.

Is there anything in particular you wanted to ask about, or were you just wanting to browse the information?

Thank you for your answer. I curently have a code for this board that uses the classical NI-DAQ that I would like to port to NI-DAQmx. A manual with NI-DAQmx in mind would help me a lot to figure out a good way to do the conversion. Browsing the document is indeed my intent, and I can certainly wait for it to be available. Is there any possibility to get notified when it is?

Hi Julien,

I will see if there is some kind of notification list that we can put you on. In the meantime, I recommend just periodically checking the product website at http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/14860 and click on the "Manuals" link.

Hi Julien,

I would also recommend taking a look at the digital shipping examples that install with DAQmx. They will give you a good idea of the program flow, and the DAQmx help contains the documentation for all of the functions. The terminology for some of the signals and modes have changed for the device, but you should be able to get pretty far using the above resources, especially if you are already familiar with the 6533 and with DAQmx in general.

Thank you,
Allen

Hi Julien-

I just came across this thread and thought you (or anyone else) may be interested to know that an NI-DAQmx Help File for 6533/6534 devices is now available here.

Thanks-

Thank you for the link Tom; this document should help me a lot. I also noticed that NI updated some of its examples for NI-DAQmx: another source of help.

Thanks,

-Julien

Hi,
I download this help file, but when I click on the file 653x.chm, the help interface will open with an error message:
"Internet explorer was unable to link to the web page you requested. The page might be temporarily unavailable."
I need to download an other file? or install this help file in a specific folder?

regards, Fabien.

Hello Fabien,

There is a known issue when using .chm files with Windows XP SP2.  The help file will need to be installed on your local computer; Windows will prevent the file from opening if it is on a network drive.
