I am running Windows 2000 on a PXI-1000 chassis with the following components:
NI DAQ 6.9.3
PXI-8155B processor
PXI-6533 DIO Cards (2)
PXI-6508 DIO Card (1)
PXI-SCSI 100 SCSI Card
This system is running a large program written in LabVIEW 5.1. It acquires analog data from microphones, digitizes the signal, and saves it in files over 6 hour periods. I've had this up and running for a couple years now with no problems, other than an incredibly slow processor ands a lack of hard drive space.
I am in the process of converting this system to a MXI-4 / PC based system, running Windows 2000 and LabVIEW 6i. When I run Measurement & Automation Explorer, I can see all the PXI cards in their appropriate slots, and the Test Panels for each card seems to work with no errors.
When I attempt to run this same software (produced in-house) which ran fine on LabVIEW 5.1 on the new PC based LabVIEW 6i system, I get Error -10401 occurred. Possible reason(s): NI-DAQ LV: The specified device is not a National Instruments product, the driver does not support the device (for example, the driver was released before the device was supported), or the device has not been configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer.
I was told that perhaps LabVIEW 5.1 addressed the 6533 DIO cards differently then LabVIEW 6i and that may be causing the problem. I have LanVIEW 7.1 Express available if that would solve the problem.
Would installing NI DAQ 7.4 or 7.5 cure this problem?
Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.
