diadem deployment : Develop on Professional / Advanced Version and run on Base version

Is it possible to develop scripts (Applications) with Diadem Professional or advanced (using features of prof. or advanced) and then port it to a machine with Diadem Base ? Is it possible to run scripts having features of the professional on a base package ?

Hello NoviceS,

Yes, that's exactly possible. You can prepare an application with the DIAdem professional or advanced version and run it on another PC where the DIAdem base version is installed. You can use the whole DIAdem functionality via script in a base version (only the revision number of base and professional or advanced version must be the same, of course).

Hi Walter
Thanks for the prompt reply. I raised this query becoz I was told that I cannot use the complete functionality of the Professional or adv. edition if being run on a base version. Is it a confirmed fact ? Of course the rev. nos. need to be maintained.
Pls clear this doubt. Is it possible to run the scripts containing adv. features of the prof. edition (or adv. edition)  on the base edition. I know that they cannot be edited on the base edition and I donot want that. But if I can execute that will be a good facility.

sorry ! but I was informed by an NI support engineer in India that it is not possible to execute the adv. features of Prof. edition (features which are not available in the base edition) in the base edition.. Therefore I ask for confirmation

Hi NoviceS,

Believe me! You can use all DIAdem features - this includes also the prov. and adv. features - in a DIAdem base edition via script!
