Modbus should just work if the device is visible as an RS232 channel.

Why are you using Internet methodology ?

You likely need to convert 485 to 232 - easy enough.

Use Modbus DasyLab control objects and off you go.

Sort out little issues like the base address of the device.

I used this system recently with DasyLab12 and was straightfarward.

Good luck.

Have you looked at the Modbus module? TCP/IP support was added with V11 SP1.

You should probably contact DASYLab support directly.

See the support page at www.dasylab.com

I've found Modbus devices to be a bit "picky", and it's trial and error to find the correct settings.

You don't mention the version of the software - the DASYLab 12 Modbus TCP/IP seemed to work better than V11.

Make sure that you have DASYLab 11 SP2 from www.dasylab.com, or try the evaluation version of V12.

The best way to use MODbus in our experience is to use a OPS server.

We also found one at around $500.00.

This will give you a better way to comunicate with your device and more reliable.

The OPC module in DASYLab works very as well
