CLAD no longer a prerequisite

Hello guys, I still have the doubt whether the CLAD is still a prerequisite for taking the CLD exam, I've read some other post commenting that it's not, but in the CLD link, the CLAD is actually showing as a prerequisite (http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/es/nid/10647)

Thanks in advance

Hi Gespij

The CLD has no formal prerequisites. Our apologies, it appears the main CLD page in Spanish was not updated to reflect the change.

Here's the side-by-side with the CLD main page in English.

I'll get that page updated. Thank you for calling this to our attention.

That doesn't mean that you should NOT go for the exam. Smiley LOL while the CLAD has been de-emphasized, it does still provide some value to anyone who is demonstrating a commitment to skills advancement (in other words, your boss can use that achievement to justify your yearly raise)

Is there real value with CLAD?  I doubt it would be a cause for a raise.... unless the boss knows little or nothing about LabVIEW..  😮

I think the CLAD has real value. It does not prove someone has the critical thinking skills needed for SW engineering, but it does prove they have the knowledge needed to get started on that path. If the position is growth-oriented or only needs the basic LV skills, then it is perfect. You can still do a lot of good and useful things with LV without CLD-level skills.

Thanks for the clarification, Fisel! However, the download page for the CLD preparation materials still has the CLAD listed as a pre-req. That's what got me to search for and find this topic.
