I would like to sing the praises of my old Nokia here right now.
No touchscreen.
No WLAN.
No web browser.
But it DOES do email.
And it makes calls where my wife's iPhone 5 can't (We're with the same network). She's borrowed my phone before on holidays because mine had a signal and hers didn't.
I was actually going to make a comment about how light the phone is (and small) but I realised that I have forgotten it today. You can't forget an iPhone, it's too huge to go unnoticed. I'm not sure yet if that's a positive or a negative mark....

Once they come out with the chrome remote desktop client for android, you could just use the fullblown LabVIEW running on your desktop remotely. 😄

Wow, I didn't expect this thread to get so much visibility! I ordered a refurbbed iPhone 4...We'll see how it works, but I know the processor isn't as good as the 4s. However, I didn't feel like shelling out an extra ~$100. Technology moves so fast now I feel like everyone's always playing catchup anyways.
I am by no means an Apple junkie; in fact I somewhat wanted another Android. But, it was easily the best deal as far as my available upgrades. So, the quick, mental cost-benefit analysis landed me with the iPhone 5. I hope someone else gets as much joy out of it as I did...for a month.

I mostly only use my phone (Samsung galaxy Ace) for calls and messages and have never found a need for anything else until one fateful day, I was still using a very old Nokia and was going for an interview. But when I tried to find the exact location of the company office, I could not find it and hence I was late for my interview. Needless to say the people involved weren't impressed and I did not get the job.
Since then, I have shifted to the Ace, has all the functoinalities a man who gets lost often need

And what would you have done in the days before smart phones? You would have called someone long before the interview to get exact directions as to where you are going. Perhaps even take a drive by the place sometime before the interview so you can see where it is so you are as prepared as possible and prevent getting lost on the way.
!!!

Actually, I usually drive by the place BEFORE I accept the interview. Is the plant maintained? Is the parking lot filled with beaters? Potholes? Is there a sense of purpose in employee movements? How is the exterior lighting? Yeah many things to look at before the interview that can tell you a lot about the company. Their is not any excuse to get lost on the way to the interview and arrive late

Mental image of this scene: you, in a van, parked across the street, fake moustache, sunglasses and ballcap, NIWeek '99 T-Shirt, peering through binoculars, then checking off on a flip pad "Casual Hawaiin-shirt Fridays Policy.... CHECK"
Or is that a real moustache?
