Observing the messages on CAN bus which are not present in database file

Hi All,

I am using the Veristand as integration software for my HiL work. I am encountering one issue: I am observing the messages that are not part of any of the database files, but they are present in CAN bus.

Also On Xnet NIBUS monitor I saw only specific messages but on Pcan_View software see more messages. Can you explain why such different behavior is occurring on the same CAN bus.

How many CAN devices are connected to the same network? Are those extra messages captured by PCAN expected?

One possible explanation I can think of is that there are more than one CAN device transmitting at different sampling rate. While PCAN is able to capture all messages, NI-XNET device treats one of them as error frames. You can try to enable Error Frame in the NI-XNET Bus Monitor.

Hi, I am using the 3 CAN buses on my system. These extra messages are not present in any of the database files. These extra msg are captured by the PCAN. I tried enabling the error frames on Bus Monitor, but I had the same observation.

Hi, I am using the 3 CAN buses on my system. 

I assume you meant you have 3 CAN devices connected to one single network.

Did you configure your NI-XNET device to send any messages? Is it possible that what PCAN captures are the messages from NI-XNET device?
