NI-8476 LIN 2.1 compatible?

Hello,

I was looking for a bit of clarification regarding the capabilities of the USB-8476 LIN module.  All of the documentation states that it is at most LIN 2.0 compliant, and contains the Atmel ATA6620 LIN transceiver.  The unit that I have at my desk clearly has an ATA6625C transceiver in it, which is LIN 2.1 compliant.

My issue is that we have an EOL tester that utilises on of these units for testing older generation ECUs (configured as the master), and the newer modules require LIN2.1.  We need to modify the tester (software for sure, maybe HW as well) to be able to handle the new modules quickly, and based on the above statement it looks like we should be able to just update the software in the tester to recognise the new module and be ready to go in short order.

Can anyone confirm that the USB-8476 can control a LIN 2.1 compliant device without issue?

Hi,

The USB-8476 does not support LIN 2.1.

Are you certain that the unit you have has an ATA6625C transceiver? You are right that the documentation shows that it contains the Atmel ATA6620.

Have you tried already to update the software and see if it works?

If it doesn't, can you change to another card that supports LIN 2.1?
