Is there anywhere I can find the step/guide to upgrading a NI PXI 8108 from Windows XP to Windows 7? Also, do I have to be connected to the internet to do it or can I be offline?

Thanks

Hi sparky123,

In general, you can purchase Windows 7 and do the upgrade yourself, or you can purchase a new harddrive from NI and as long as you provide proof of your Windows 7 license, NI could put Windows 7 on the new harddrive.  There is also another forum post with some components of the process that may be useful to you.  Please take a look at the following post.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for the email. So I have a new NI PXI - 8108 and for some reason it's not finding any of my other devices in the chassis. I have a NI PXI -1042 chassis with 4 NI PXI -6552 timing modules and 2 4110 power supplies. I just put in the controller and went through the set up steps but it can't recognize anything and I tried going online with it and it's connected to the internet but still not working.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi sparky123,

Thanks for reaching out.  I'm not sure why you're experiencing that issue, but have a couple suggestions.  If you don't have PXI Platform Services, download and install the most recent version--http://www.ni.com/download/pxi-platform-services-14.1/5230/en/.  Make sure you followed the PXI setup instructions, as per the following page--http://www.ni.com/tutorial/9235/en/#toc5.  You could also try other chassis and controllers if they are available.
