IVI library grayed out in LabWindows 7.1.1

I recently upgraded from LabWindows 6.0 to LabWindows 7.1.1 and the IVI library is grayed out in 7.1.1. I've tried re-installing the IVI Compliance Package, ver 2.2, and the library is still grayed out in LabWindows. During the IVI Compliance install, I did verify that CVI support is selected. I've gone back to 6.0 and the IVI library is there. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for your help.

There are two possible reasons for this:

1. There is a new version of the driver for CVI 7.1, you will need that version of driver;

2. Whening installing the driver, the location of where the driver should saved is changed, you will need to make sure the driver is installed in the CVI7.1 folder, not the CVI6.0 folder.

Reinstalling the IVI Compliance package might help but I would check on the driver itself first. It also helps if you let us know which driver you were trying to install so I can try it as well.

Thanks for your reply. My problem is just with LabWindows not having the IVI library, I haven't tried working with any drivers yet, that may be my next problem:)

Likely IVI Shared Components may be missing or mis-linked, and better to reinstall. I don't know if installing NI IVI Compliance Packege 2.2 is enough for using IVI drivers. I think IVI Shared Components may also have to be installed separatelly.

As for each of instrument drivers (VXIpnp and IVI-C), they must go under the VXIpnp or ProgramFiles/IVI directory, which are independent of CVI's installation place.
