How to write data to excel in specified format?

I am using activex to write data array to excel worksheet. Data format is string. Is it possible to specify data format (text, number, time...) in cells using activex?

Yes you can.   This snippet uses a mix of the Report Generation toolkit and ActiveX to format a column of timestamps.  Just modify the 'format string' to meet your needs.

Can you attach the VI file please??...am new to labView and i dont recognise a few blocks

The VI is attached. It's a 'Snippet' (look it up in the help). And, each VI has its name shown. Use the search button on the functions palette.
