HELP: ACQUIRING IMAGES AND ANALOG SIGNAL SIMULTANEOUSLY

I would like to acquire images from my camera as well as voltage signals from a detector and stream data to disk.

Both these acquisitions are at different rates (Images acquired at 100 or 200Hz and voltage signal at 50-100kHz). I have PCIe1433 and PCI6251 boards.

I can acquire both (images and analog signal) independently but now I want in-sync data from the two. So basically I would like to

START both acquistion simultaneously, acquire and write to disk.

Later for post processing I would like to look at voltage signals and exact time corresponding images.

On the face of it this seems like a simple problem, however, I have found absolutely no example of this on this forum.

I would appreciate any advice on how to do this.

Thanks

gvstemp.

PS: the labview example "AVI Read Write with Data Example.Vi" is almost the exact output I am looking for, however I dont know how to get the "simultaneous and in-sync" image+analog signal acquired.

I think the VI you're going to want to look at is IMAQ Configure Trigger3.vi . It's under Vision and Motion->NI-IMAQ->Signal I/O. That's where all the triggering VIs are. If you're trying to do the analog signal hardwire triggered as well you'll probably need to use an external trigger of some sort. Take a look at that and tell us what you think.

Thanks I will give it a shot and see if this works.

Thanks again.

I tried the following, however I keep getting

error 200279.

The image acquisition works fine... but at the end of acquiring all the frames.. it pops the 200279 error... and outputs NO analog values at all.

Can any one please help/comment/suggest ?

Just so that I am clear in my question:

1. I am acquiring images (from camera 100-200Hz) and analog voltages (from a detector (50-100kHz))

2. I want to start these two aqusitions simultaneously, so that I have voltage signals corresponding to every frame.

I want to know how does voltage changes for every frame.

Once I have acquired this (all images and corresponding voltagedata) I can write it to disk for post analysis.

Hope this makes it clear as to what I am trying to achieve.

thanks

gvs
