Am am looking at ways of showing a compass indicator where the dial moves, not the needle.  As in to display how a real compass behaves in an vehicle where the meter is floating?

Yes I have searched the forum fully.  All of the previous examples involve the needle moving around the dial i.e. the top is always north.

I am looking to move the dial around the needle i.e. the direction you are going is always at the top

Change the property node for Scale.ScalePosition.Start for the dial.

I'm a relative newbie.  While I can get a property node... I can't see how it integrates with the guage in the VI: so I cant test it yet.  Could someone please suggest an example/resource on the use of property nodes (which look really interesting thanks).

No.  They are the wrong property nodes.

I went a few steps more and added text labels to the directions

Thanks.  I presume the same methodology would work to make 'linear' meters.  Where the scale would move up and down the pointer (similar to a slider but the slider stays central and the scale moves).
