FTDI interfacing With Linux RT

Hi,

Has anyone tried to interface FTDI board with myRIO Linux RT? According to this link (https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-37389), it supposed to work. I am just wondering if anybody tried or not.

I surely couldn't. Any help would be appreciated.

Based on the whitepaper you already mentioned, the FTDI has been tested with a myRIO and Linux RT. Personally I haven’t really worked with the FTDI boards, but found this tutorial, which pretty much indicates it should work:

Actually I tried that. Eveything works the way they explained. But the problem starts after that. ASRL3::INSTR did show up in the NI-Max, but there isa  status box, which shows "Not Present". When I log into myRIO through putty, I can see that Linux RT can detect that FTDI too. But the problem is, Labview can't. Because it is  "Not Present". So after I dig more, some suggests that, maybe because linux occupies the FTDI, that's why Labview can't get hold of it. So, I de-load the FTDI modules from Linux.

Voila, now Labview can detect the device, but as a Raw USB 😞   Not FTDI!!!

When I dig more, I found that I can load NI-Serial module to my device, then they will detect. But, myRIO don't support NI-Serial.

I am cornerd from every possible way Smiley Sad
