gibberish visa write - Agilent 5052B

Hello,

I am trying to capture data at different instants using the Agilent 5052x drivers (see attached file and use the "Agilent E5052X Acquire Single Trace (Phase Noise).vi" under the examples folder). However, after capturing the data, if I then try to get the frequency data (as per the Frequency_VISA.vi), I get gibberish.  Is there a way to overcome this issue and obtain the correct data from the Frequency_VISA.vi?

Thanks for your help and time.

P.S.  I am using Labview 8.2

Explain gibberish. The values that you have in the attached VI look okay. When you run the example, do you set the data to formatted or unformatted?

p.s. Please clean up your frequency VI. Get rid of that sequence structure and use data flow by connecting the error out to error in and and VISA Out to VISA In.

Please see the attached file of the data that is output.

Also I leave the data as formatted.

Thanks,

hiNi.

As I asked, how did you set the formatting of the data?

Look in the manual about data formatting. You usually have an option ttho select between 'ASCII' or 'Binary'  though the actual terms may be different.

My apologies...I left the data default which is formatted in ASCII.

Thanks,
