Hi,
Is it possible to implement a FPGA personallity in MyRio to work as a 488 GPIB interface and communicate with an instrument?
Something like:
Computer Host as GPIB Controller 》--- WiFi link --- 》Ni MyRio 》--- GPIB cable --- 》Instrument
or
Computer Host 》--- WiFi link --- 》Ni MyRio as GPIB Controller 》--- GPIB cable --- 》Instrument
Regards,
Rodrigo.

Hi Rodrigo,
We don´t have a FPGA personallity to work with MyRIO as GPIB interface, but you can use a GPIB-Serial converter and read your GPIB device as a serial device in the UART port, but we don´t have any example doing it and will not be simple.
So it is not impossible do, but is not simple implement this.

Thank you Abel.
But if I need a GPIB-Serial converter, it´s better to use a GPIB-USB or GPIB-Ethernet converter without the MyRIO at all.
It would be possible to implement a FPGA personality to work with MyRIO as GPIB interface, maybe using LabView FPGA module. Is there any impediment to implement it?
Regards,
Rodrigo.

Thanks, it seems a good project.
