Measure EVM of DSSS BPSK,OOK

Has anyone ever tried to measure EVM of a BPSK DSSS signal on an OOK transmission? I have 19200 bps OOK data with 1.2Mcps BPSK spreading want to measure the EVM of each ON burst occurs randomly at intervals of 50 us. How would you trigger/acquire each burst?

These bursts have a preamble of 4.8 mS. Is it possible to trigger on the preamble, and collect a time domain waveform in such a way that you could measure the difference in the ON/OFF power of the OOK transmission? Something like a zerospan measurement with a spectrum analyzer?

What hardware and software are you using?

Sorry about that. I'm using a PXI 5660 with LabView Spectral Measurement and Modulation Toolkits. I would also like to measure the modulation depth of the 19200 data, and capture/demod and entire 12 mS burst. I can't quite figure out how to get started with the SW.

Here is an example of how to do zero span with the 5660. For demodulation, I would start woth the examples installed by Modulation Toolkit at:

Hi etudiant2007 -

WCDMA is not a trivial transmission scheme, and unfortunately there aren't any canned examples that I can provide to you.  Your best bet is to start with the Modulation Toolkit to build the chirp packets that will be generated.  I have some questions, too:
  1. Which version of LabVIEW are you working with?
  2. Do you have the Modulation Toolkit?
  3. What hardware are you using?  (NI 5670 or 5671?)
I also noticed that you posted simultaneously to our French forum with a similar question.  If you get any help in that language from your other thread, we'd appreciate it if you could post back here with things you learned, so English-speakers can gain from the knowledge too!

Hello,
National Instruments provides Modulation Toolkit, containing modulation agorithms. WCDMA is an example of a standard or protocol, which the modulation scheme is only one part of. Currently there are no SW tools available that provide support for WCDMA protocol simulation from National Instruments.
