State Diagram "Execution Highlighting" does not work in LV 8.2

Solved!
Go to solution
In older version I could watch the SD to enusre the proper transitions were taking place in the correct order.

I can see the probe show up on the state SR but the SDE does not show that anything is happening!

Ben,

I got it to work with a simple diagram on my machine with V8.2 loaded.  Did you just upgrade to 8.2?  Are you targeting hardware?

Hi Ben

Like centerbolt I see it working OK too. I tested with PrimeTest.vi example.

Thank you David and Ceterbolt!

So I wonder what I will have to do to get it working on my machine .... (rhetorical question) Smiley Mad

I have "1.0" plus a patch! Smiley Surprised

I just got off the phone with support for SR 910333.

Yes the SDE execution highlighting works fine

UNLESS

The VI is opened from a project....

Then the execution highlighting does not work!

You've got my attention now.  I've got "1.0" minus the patch and I'm getting ready to start a project that is going to be state machine intensive.  Does this patch have an name?

Hmm aside from "Here shut-up Ben" I will have to look. Smiley Wink

The patch fixes an issue where the SD will become very large and can't be made smaller.

Ben,

Thank you for the info.  I had noticed that little quirk, but didn't pursue it.

Wait, what's that sound?  I think I just heard the merry-go-round start up again.Smiley Very Happy

Thanks for the reminder Centerbolt!

I had never updated that thread to indicate that the fix (for the SDE size issue) did work.
