Controlling a custom device in Signal Express

Hi,

I have Signal Express Teltronics edition

I would like to add my function gen to be crontrolled from this software

Its a Grundig/Digimess FG100

I have the LabView drivers for it, version 7.1 and 8.0

I have it connected to the serial port, and under ports in MAX i have given it an alias, and i can run a idn command from the Open VISA test panel with success:

*IDN?\n

gets the following result

GRUNDIG,FG100,000620,970926-2.00\r\n

So the device is connected and working, i dont know what to do now to be able to access this in SignalExpress alongside my TDS3054

Any help appreciated

There is a tutorial available about external instruments. You need an IVI-C driver for an instrument or you need LabVIEW to create a custom plug-in.

There dont seem to be any IVI-C drivers available, and i dont have LabVIEW.

Having a brief look at the docs you posted:

"You can call almost any LabVIEW VI from SignalExpress with only a few basic requirements on the VI. By simply packaging the VI following a few steps and without touching the actual VI block diagram, you can execute the VI within the SignalExpress environment."

Im wondering if there is anyone whould would attempt to convert these for me and i can give them a try, maybe post them up for other signalexpress users?
