Hello,
We are actually working with a 3 VXI Rack acquistion system. The configuration is as follow :
- 1 Masterframe E8404A with
- 1 VXI MXI 2.
- 10 VT/Agilent 1432 16 channel.
- 1 N2216A (VXI HD local bus).
- And 2 slave E8404A with
- VXI MXI 2 inteface
- 1432 16 channels acquistion cards
- N2216 A hard drive local bus
E8404A are connected each other with MXI 2 cable. The master one is connected on a PCI/MXI card plug into a computer.
The matter is we are encountering many problems with this configuration since we have changed our computer. I think it's came from MXI technologie/driver.
So, i would like to know if it is possible to change our VXI MXI 2 card by VXI USB.
Is it compliant with our configuration?
Could it work with a 1 master - 2 slaves configuration?
ps : We are working on Signalcalc software from dataphysic.
Regards,
Cyrille

Hi Cyrille,
What kind of problem do you have with your actual system?
For compatibility with VXI USB, I suggest you call a sales representative for better response.

In fact all was working well until our computer went out of order.
We install our software on a new computer and all not go as before:
It works well when we used only 1 mainframe but with 3 main frame, the computer "freez" during acquisition or during data downlaoding when we are using vxi HD (N2216 from agilent).
If we made the recording directly on the computer HD its works well.
I don't know were the problem come from, but i have a word with a NI sales Manager in a Test and measurement meeting, and he told me that it certainly come from computer mother board / PCI-MXI 2 card compatibility.
It's why the idea to use the VIX-USB come to me for resolving the problem.
