For the NI 2532B, Is the 2532B internal configurable to 16x16 matrix? Or does the 2532B requires external hardware to configure to 16x16 matrixes?

Hello Icefan11

It is internal configurable. However in order to expose the signal we use the TB-2645 terminal block for this topology.

Here's the native topology.  Most switch modules are internally configurable, but the 2532's relay density prohibits additional internal relays to internally configure each topology.  Thus, on the 2532, the terminal block configures the native topology.  Without a terminal block, you'll need to configure the sixteen 2x16 matrices yourself by shorting rows and columns.

Hi

That is my understanding too,  as the test panel for the 2532b shows no additional relays as it does with the 2530b on my rack.

Fong, you affectively did this in your schematic by tying all the columns with the same number together for banks 0-4 and leaving the remaining banks independent.    This gives ultimate configurability.

Hopefully we'll get the BW we wantSmiley Happy

Based on the NI 2532B connector pin out, I did not find any ground pin.  Does the NI 2532B has any ground connection?

I am designing a custom matrix, and planning to use the NI TB-2642B terminal block housing for mating to the NI 2532B.  Do you have mechanical drawing of the NI TB-2642B?

Icefan,

The NI TB-2642B Installation Instructions show ground lugs where you can tie your test fixtures to ground. Additionally, when connecting the 2532B to a TB-264xB terminal block, the connector / screws / alignment pins create a ground connection to chassis ground.

Hi Frank

Do you have the internal mechanical drawing of the NI TB-2642B?

Icefan,

Would this work?

Hi Frank,

No.  It only shows the external dimension.  I need know the screw and mounting locations for securing the circuit into the box.

Well it IS helpful from one standpoint because it shows the relationship of the connectors to the housing.   If you don't get this right nothing will line up Smiley Happy
