Multiplex LVDS

I need to multiplex LVDS from 8 UUT's to the receiver, I have 6 LVDS lines lines clk+/-, data0 +/-, and data1 +/-,  So thats 48 in and I need to select which 6 out. Does anybody have any ideas about how to do this.  Anything PXI?

Thanks,
Amanda

Looking at the switch product selection guide, http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/4194,
you could use a single PXI-2576 configured in the Octal 8x1 2-Wire topology.  Use three banks, one for each +/- signal pair of your UUT.  You could connect to the first UUT by closing three channels at once, one on each of the three banks: say, ch0->com0, ch8->com2, and ch16->com4.  This yields 3 x 2-wires which is 6-wires connected at once.  Then you could select the next UUT by closing ch1->com0, ch9->com2, and ch17->com4.

I forgot to mention that I need a bandwidth of 60MHz.

For that bandwidth, you could use 3 PXI-2593s in the Dual 8x1 Mux topology.
To connect the first UUT, connect:

Switch1/ch0->com0, Switch1/ch8->com1
Switch2/ch0->com0, Switch2/ch8->com1
Switch3/ch0->com0, Switch3/ch8->com1

For the second UUT, connect:

Switch1/ch1->com0, Switch1/ch9->com1
Switch2/ch1->com0, Switch2/ch9->com1
Switch3/ch1->com0, Switch3/ch9->com1

Hello Brian:

My google search brought me back to my NI community. I appreciate very much that this problem on Mux for LVDS has a thread. Now my question is somewhat similar I had hope that I could extend your answer to my current design requirement. Here, I have 40 channels of LVDS which roughly runs to 200MBps (or 200Mhz) I intend to MUX them in two levels 1 in every 20 x 2  matrix form what do you propose? Would any of the NI hardware do the job?

Hi Berns,

The bandwidth you require dictates that you will be need an RF switch module.  If you look at this document, it shows all the switch modules and possible topologies for them. The big decision you would have to make is if you want a PXI or SCXI system.

Also, I'm not sure what you meant by "two levels 1 in every 20 x 2."  Perhaps you can attach a drawing of the MUX you wish to achieve and I could better make a recommendation for you.
