Variable frequency sine wave generation (software trigger) using PXI-5412

Hi All,

I am trying to generate a continuous sine wave (varying frequency) using a PXI-5412.

I need to make the frequency changes without switching the output OFF, i tried doing this in a loop but comes out with an error.

From the documentation, i figured that this can be done using frequency list and a time or software trigger?. I am having no luck trying to find the software trigger option. I was wondering if any one of you could give me some guidance please?

Your card does not support scripting however the Burst Mode Triggering may help.  There is also an example attached. 

To use a software trigger, place a normal trigger function down and select Start > Software Edge.  The trigger function can be found at Instrument I/O > NI-FGEN > Configuration > Configure Trigger & Synchronization > niFgen Configure Trigger (poly).vi
