SCXI 1200 and 2400 modules

We've replaced our BridgeView software with LabView.  BridgeView was able to communicate with SCXI 1200 and 2400 modules, which talked to SCXI 1120 (analog in), 1121 (RTD), 1124 (analog out) and 1163R (discrete out) modules.  What hardware replaces SCXI 1200 and 2400 modules in SCXI 1001 chassis, with LabView 8.5.1, to be able to talk to these I/O 1100 series modules?

thank you

You should be able to directly interface with those modules still through either the 1200 or 2400. I would take a look at the following online articles. They talk about setting up and using your SCXI system via the 1200 or 2400.

Can I Auto-detect Modules in a Remote SCXI System when Connected by RS-232 to the SCXI-2400?
SCXI System Connected to Parallel Port Via SCXI-1200

What Level of Performance Should I Expect From a Remote SCXI System with the SCXI-1200?

Troubleshooting SCXI-1200 Configuration Problems

 That should get you started.

thanks Chris.  I looked at your suggested info.   I'm not sure I'm there yet, however, since I've got NI-DAQ 8.7.1 installed.  This version indicates that these SCXI devices are not supported anymore.

Excerpt from my Readme file:

NI-DAQ 8.7.1 Readme ......

Devices No Longer Supported in NI-DAQ 7.x and Later
The following products are not supported in NI-DAQmx 7.x and later .....

NI SCXI-1200 12-bit DAQ and control module
  NI SCXI-2000 4-slot chassis
NI SCXI-2400 serial interface module  .........

Doing a little more digging.  Is the SCXI-1600 the replacement for these?

thanks

Hello,

The SCXI-1600 essentially does perform the same functionality as either the 1200 or 2400, but is only supported in DAQmx. It is supported in DAQmx 8.7.1, you just have to make sure that your other modules are supported by the version of DAQmx that you have too. Here is the link to the readme for these modules.
