cRIO not listed in new targets of LabVIEW

Solved!
Go to solution

Dear all,

Altough I'm using cDAQ and NI-DAQmx with Matlab since more than 10 years, I'm very new to LabVIEW ecosystem.

Trying to connect my cRIO 9040 with RT Linux to my first "Helloworld" program. Images of both dev. PC and target are included hereunder.

What works:

- Detection of cRIO in MAX

- Installing software on both sides (dev. PC and cRIO target)

- Detection of the inserted cDAQ modules in MAX

- Measuring with MAX tools on every  module

- Switching each module between RT and FPGA

- Right click on new LabVIEW project

- New targets and devices

- Window pops up... but

What doesn't work:

- No folder with RIO targets available

- Not detecting target when I'm giving direct IP (through usb)

What can I do to improve this ?

Thanks in advance for any help,

C$aba

What exact version of LabVIEW do you have installed? Most problems with Real-Time targets not being found in LabVIEW come from the fact that the 64 bit version of LabVIEW does not (fully) support Real-Time targets yet.

Dear Jörg,

Version is 64bit indeed.

I'm deleting it from dev. PC (altough it could run both 32bit and 64bit).

I'll install 2021, 32bit and test again.

I'll keep you informed.

The 32bit installation solved the issue.

Many thanks for the help!
