Pullup/pulldown for cRIO module input (sensor faults)

Hello all,

If a have a pullup/pulldown for a cRIO module (to facilitate open/defective sensor faults), does the location on the circuit (near the sensor or near the cRIO module) affect the performance of the sensor? Would you recommend locating the pullup/pulldown immediately after the sensor or just before the cRIO module?

I think we'll need more information to help you.  What are the sensors you are using and how does a pull-up/pull-down resistor help "facilitate open/defective sensor faults" in your application?
