NI 9265 with cRIO won't write output values specified in Scan Engine mode

I just got a new compact RIO system with three NI 9211 (thermocouple) and two NI 9265 (analog output) modules.  I'm using the Scan Engine to program it.  When I drag and drop the thermocouple I/O variables from the Project Manager, I can read the temperatures just fine.  However, when I drag and drop the AO I/O variables into my program and wire a floating point number to them, I can't get any output at all.  What is the problem with my analog output?

Hello new_to_NI,

Can you provide a little bit more information on your setup?  Namely, how are you measuring the output voltage?  What controller/backplane do you have?  What version of LabVIEW and NI-RIO are you using?

If you could post your code that would also be much appreciated.

Also try writing to your output channels from the Distributed System Manager, which you can launch from the Tools menu in LabVIEW.

It allows you to read and write your I/O without programming.

Okay...I figured it out.  I needed to connect external power to the AO modules.
